Huawei’s Aito M7 Sets Record with Over 100,000 Pre-Orders in One Hour

On September 5, 2025, the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) opened pre-orders for its highly anticipated Aito M7 electric vehicle. Starting at 288,000 yuan (approximately $40,300), the vehicle is available in both Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) variants. In an impressive display of consumer interest, the Aito M7 received over 20,000 orders within the first ten minutes and surpassed 100,000 pre-orders within just one hour, as reported by HIMA. The official launch is scheduled for September 23.

Key Features of the All-New Aito M7

The Aito M7 represents a significant upgrade from its predecessor, which starts at 249,800 yuan ($35,000). Notable improvements include enhancements in design, interior quality, configuration, and overall dimensions. The vehicle features a front fascia reminiscent of the Aito M8, including a continuous light strip that connects the headlights, with the Aito brand logo repositioned above this strip.

Equipped with Huawei’s cutting-edge Qiankun ADS 4.0 advanced driving assistance system, the Aito M7 includes a lidar system as standard across all models. The high-end variants utilize a roof-mounted lidar solution that features a 192-line lidar, a rear-facing solid-state lidar, and five 4D millimeter-wave radars. For in-cabin safety, an innovative solution involving a lidar-camera combination allows the vehicle to detect obstacles as small as 30 cm, even at night.

Specifications and Performance

The dimensions of the Aito M7 measure 5080 mm in length, 1999 mm in width, and 1780 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3030 mm. Compared to the previous model, the new M7 is 60 mm longer and has a wheelbase extended by 210 mm. The vehicle is available in both 5-seater and 6-seater configurations.

The BEV rear-wheel drive (RWD) variant is powered by an electric motor that delivers a maximum output of 227 kW (304 hp). The all-wheel drive (AWD) version includes an additional front motor with a maximum power of 160 kW (215 hp). It comes standard with a 100 kWh battery pack, offering two CLTC ranges of 710 km and 660 km.

For the EREV version, a 1.5L gasoline engine serves as a range extender, producing a maximum power of 118 kW (158 hp). The RWD version shares the same electric motor specifications as the BEV, while the AWD variant features an additional front motor rated at 165 kW (221 hp). The EREV provides three comprehensive CLTC range options of 1,465 km, 1,510 km, and 1,625 km, depending on the battery choice of 37 kWh or 53 kWh.

Luxurious Interior Amenities

Inside, the Aito M7 boasts a modern cabin equipped with a full LCD instrument panel, a 16.1-inch central control screen, and an entertainment display for the co-pilot. The addition of wood trim accents on the door panels and center console enhances the luxurious feel. Notably, a rear ceiling entertainment screen, a 7.3L refrigerator, and a zero-gravity driver’s seat have also been integrated into the design for added comfort and convenience.

As the eagerly awaited launch date approaches, the Aito M7 is poised to make a significant impact on the electric vehicle market in China, reflecting the growing demand for innovative and advanced automotive solutions.
